Game of Thrones – Season 7 Finale Trailer lines up a Popular Fan Theory

Season 7 of Game of Thrones is already coming to an end, and the trailer for next week’s finale is doing a good job of lining up a popular fan theory coming to life.

Game of Thrones

BY Jack Holmes   August 21 2017

Jon Snow got his wight, Dany finally becomes firmly anti-Night King, and almost everyone on the show is heading south to King’s Landing. Almost everyone, it seems, including Sandor Clegane. Not Sansa, though. She still seems to be lingering at Winterfell.

The trailer for the Season 7 finale of Game of Thrones is laying down the plot for Daenerys Targaryen bringing all of her armies to King’s Landing, and the Fantastic Five who came back from their suicide mission north of the Wall. Grey Worm, the Dothraki forces and the rest of Team Dany line up outside of King’s Landing, and Jon Snow and his crew approach Cersei to convince her not fight the wars inside Westeros. But we know very well Cersei isn’t the quickest to accept logic.

Game of Thrones

Jaime and Cersei have now had two episodes to ponder upon how they are going to reciprocate to Daenerys Targaryen’s arrival, and for what all we know Cersei Lannister will always “choose violence” when given the choice. So she would most probably go for the convenient Westeros way and make her verdict based on a trial by combat. That obviously looks like the type of face-off moment the trailer is setting up.

The Cleganebowl Theory

The fan theory is pretty simple: the Hound and the Mountain will fight each other in a vicious showdown. Given the dramatic history they have together, it makes perfect sense that this would one day come true.

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has been delivering lots of fan-desired moments, from Jon and Dany finally meeting to the Night King reviving a wight dragon. And they’ve all-but confirmed Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen. So while they’re at it, why not make Cleganebowl happen in Season 7?
