On July 20, 2017, the world of Rock was shocked by the devastating news of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington’s death at the age of 41. The singer died of a sudden suicide, leaving a musical heritage that was loved by millions of fans worldwide. Los Angeles authorities were investigating Bennington’s death but no official reports have been released, on what really happened to Chester. According to TMZ report, it’s been said due to hanging.

Leaving us all behind in sorrow, let’s take a moment to appreciate the works of our beloved Rockstar. Chester Bennington was born on March 20, 1976, in Phoenix, Arizona, into the Benningtons family. His mother was a nurse and father was a police detective. Bennington grew a passion for music at a very young age, citing bands Depeche Mode and Stone Temple Pilots as his inspirations. Chester dreamed of playing for Stone Temple Pilots, which he did and was a proud member from 2013 to 2015.

Bennington’s first band “Sean Dowdell and His Friends” became a failure and Chester was frustrated, he was almost ready to quit his career and give up the passion. Chester met Mike Shinoda in an audition who happens to be the future co-founder of Linkin Park and met the future members of Linkin Park. All and all these guys got together and set up the band and that’s the birth of well-renowned Rock band Linkin Park. On October 24th, 2000, Linkin Park released their debut album, Hybrid Theory where Bennington and Shinoda wrote the lyrics which happens to be their breakthrough. It became a huge hit among many charts and loved by people all around the world putting the Linkin Park name in the music industry spotlight.

Three years, after gaining reputation Linkin Park was in full force and motivated to change the Rock industry, On March 25th, 2003 the band released the album Meteora which featured Rap Metal style with new effects, and Meteora sold more than 800,000 copies during its first week. It ranked as the number one selling album on the charts in US, UK, and many other countries.

Linkin Park didn’t certainly stop there. Having two successful album hits, on 2007 they released the album “Minutes to Midnight” and it was much appreciated and respected among fans. The songs “What I’ve Done” from the album featured in the hit blockbuster franchise “Transformers” and became the top ranked song in Billboard’s Modern Rock tracks. Mike Shinoda also featured the song “Second to None” which was also included in the film. Later that year Linkin Park won the “Favorite Alternative Artist” at the American Music Awards. “Bleed It Out”, ”Shadow of the Grey”, ”Given Up” and “Leave Out All The Rest” were also success singles on the album. Linkin Park launched a world tour titled “Minutes to Midnight World Tour” performing in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Following major success, albums such as “Living Things” and “Recharged”, “The Hunting Party” and “One More Light” were also major albums in Linkin Park’s career.

There’s no doubt that Chester Bennington is a genius artist who lead the band to many successful and entertaining heights. Fans from all around the world were with him throughout his successful musical career. His friend and co-founder of Linkin Park stated “Shocked and heartbroken. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.” regarding his demise.

It’s a loss that we will never forget and remembered in our hearts for all the great work he has done.
